2007 sophomore album from the talented singer/songwriter. Recorded with Mark Nevers (Lambchop/Will Oldham) at his home studio in Nashville, I Am The Man is thirteen tracks of heart-stopping soulful folk loveliness. It features White on vocals and guitars and occasional cymbal clash with additional instruments - including brushed drums, tender piano and the prettiest trombone sound this side of Calexico. 13 tracks including 'Roses Are Not Red', 'Mary Jane' and 'Great Imperialist State'. Simone White was born in Hawaii, and didn't have shoes till she was four. Her family moved to California. Simone's family is filled with artists, from her dad to her grandma who was a showgirl, a singer and a dancer on the stage. Her auntie wrote pop songs in the 50's.
